The War in Iraq...

“Even though we opposed the dictator and supported free elections, our troops are now a catalyst for violence.  We need an immediate, planned exit - a responsible withdrawal, in a timely fashion.”

Is the Surge Working?

The surge is working according to Rep. Joe Pitts. Halleluiah!  Finally, after five years of the bumbling and incompetence of the Bush administration, an administration that Mr. Pitts so closely supports, they get one thing right.

Morale is high because our troops are finally getting the support they should have had in the beginning. Meanwhile, morale here at home is sinking to all time lows. Skyrocketing fuel prices, stock market sinking, mortgage meltdowns, and health-care costs through the roof, assuming you can afford to have health insurance.

I remind you, Mr. Pitts, you voted YES for all the Bush policies. You had five years to stand up or speak out against the bad choices that Bush and his civilian war team made, and you failed.

The bad choices that cause the death or injury of our men and women in uniform.  The bad choices that has resulted in the deaths of so many innocent women and children in Iraq.  Five years later you finally speak out and try to throw Paul Bremmer and Karl Rove under the bus for their mistakes that were made with the Bush blessing.

Again it is demonstrated that taking responsibility for one’s actions is not a trait carried by many of our elected officials in Washington.  No, it’s always someone else’s fault.

The crust of the biscuit is, five years ago we invaded Iraq, based on a lie, ill-prepared and undermanned, with no clear exit plan.  And now the taxpayers and the economy are paying for it now.
